Funding Needed to Send Utah Robotics Teams to World Championship

Dear Friends of FIRST Utah Robotics,

Thank you for helping us to make this year the best yet for FIRST Utah Robotics teams.  I am happy to report that more FIRST Utah teams qualified for World Championships in Houston April 19-22, than ever in our history.  The list of teams is included below, including 5 FIRST Robotics Competition teams (grades 9-12), 2 FIRST Tech Challenge teams (7-12th grade), and 2 FIRST Lego League teams (4th-8th grades), with the possibility of one more FIRST Lego League team qualifying.

World Championships is a fantastic experience for teams as they travel and compete against and meet other great STEM-inspired students from all over the United States and many parts of the world.

Three of our high school teams just qualified this past Saturday at the Idaho Regional.  What this means is that these teams are scrambling to find sufficient funding to travel and compete in Houston.

I am writing to ask you for your assistance in helping us find the financial resources required for our Utah teams to make it to Houston.  We need to raise $20,000 in 10 days, which is why we need your help.  The teams are happy to meet and talk with potential sponsors or donors; we just need to help them find people willing to help support them in their effort to compete in Houston.

I welcome any suggestions or leads you may have.  Thank you for your continued support and interest in building Utah’s future STEM workforce and entrepreneurs.

Best,

Marlo M. Oaks, Chair
