10th Annual Hall of Fame Celebration

Inductees: H. Raymond Bingham and Dr. Theodore H. Stanley. Keynote: Jerry Yang, CEO and Chief Yahoo, Yahoo Friday, October 24, 2008 at the Grand America The Annual Hall of Fame event honors individuals with Utah ties who have made global contributions to the information technology and life science industries through new technology, innovation and leadership.

Ray Bingham - "Global Technology Executive & Director"
Ray Bingham’s distinguished career of more than 30 years has spanned businesses in high tech, chemical engineering, and hospitality real estate development with accomplishments in mergers and acquisitions, global trade and venture capital. He is currently Managing Director with General Atlantic, a global growth equity firm. Having joined the firm in 2006, Mr. Bingham is co-head of General Atlantic’s Palo Alto office. He also serves as co-head of the firm's investment activities in the
Communications and Electronics sector.

Dr. Theodore Stanley - "Researcher, Teacher, Inventor, Entrepreneur"
Dr. Theodore (Ted) Stanley
is recognized as an international expert in intravenous anesthesia, opioid analgesics, drug delivery systems, human and wildlife immobilization techniques. He has been associated with the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Utah for more than 40 years (since 1967). Dr. Stanley has been directly responsible for the research education of more than 45 anesthesiology and surgical fellows, he has mentored more than 40 foreign and dozens of American medical students; and has guided the early academic careers of countless junior faculty in anesthesiology departments across the United States and Western Europe. CEO & Chief Yahoo

Jerry Yang, a Taiwanese native raised in San Jose, Calif., co-created the Yahoo! Internet navigational guide in April 1994 with David Filo and co-founded Yahoo! Inc. in April 1995. He was appointed chief executive officer of the company in June 2007. Mr. Yang, a leading force in the Internet media industry, has been instrumental in building Yahoo! into the world's most highly trafficked Web site and one of the world's most recognized brands. Since the company's founding, Mr. Yang has been a key member of the executive management team. His focus at Yahoo! over the years has included corporate strategy, Yahoo!'s technology vision, strategic business partnerships and international joint ventures, and recruiting key talent. In addition to serving on the Yahoo! Board of Directors, Mr. Yang currently serves on the board of directors of Cisco Systems, Yahoo! Japan, and Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., and is also on the Stanford University Board of Trustees. Mr. Yang holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Stanford University and is currently on a leave of absence from Stanford's electrical engineering Ph.D. program.
