Bio: Jay Goltz

Jay GoltzJay Goltz, who writes Thinking Entrepreneur, started his custom frame shop, Artists’ Frame Service, right out of college. That business has grown from $70,000 in revenue in 1978 to become the largest picture-framing store in the country, with more than 20 times the revenue of the average framing shop. Mr. Goltz, whose companies employ more than 100 people and produce more than $13 million in revenue, also started and runs Chicago Art Source and Jayson Home & Garden. He has been featured in an Inc. magazine cover story, is the author of “The Street-Smart Entrepreneur” (Addicus Books, 1997), and has written a monthly column for Fortune Small Business. He also serves as a mentor with the William J. Clinton Foundation’s Urban Enterprise Initiative.
