TechLaw Ventures to Host Lunch Seminar

THE LEGAL ECOSYSTEM FOR OPEN SOURCE: INDIVIDUALS, IDEAS, AND INSTITUTIONS

This seminar to be held February 28, 2013 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm features insights on individuals whose innovative ideas and related organizations affect legal issues arising out of the development and use of open source software.

Speaker:  Greg Jones, TechLaw Ventures.  Mr. Jones counsels clients on open source and other technology law matters.  In his former role as Vice President of Technology Law at Novell, Inc. he chaired the company's Open Source Review Board, was a member of Novell's litigation team in SCO v. Novell, participated in the creation of version 3 of the GNU General Public License (GPL), and led Novell's negotiation teams that helped establish the Open Inventions Network and the Novell's Patent Cooperation Agreement with Microsoft. Mr. Jones has taught technology licensing as adjunct faculty at BYU’s J. Reuben Clark School of Law.
